Our Origin Story

How we came to be and what we aim to do!

Creature's Crypt is an up and coming store in Louisville, Kentucky with a specialty in comic books, zines, and local art! We created Creature's with the goal of having a one stop shop for art, stories, and community while also keeping our personal values in the forefront of our decision making. When it comes to the zines and art that we carry, we get all of our pieces from artists we are working with directly and sell them via consignment (check out our sell with us page if you'd like to learn more about that).

As we go forward, we are excited to bring you events both online and in person! We don't just want to get art in your hands, we want you to talk with others about it and help you create your own. This means the possiblity of books clubs, zine workshops, and hopefully a space all our own to serve as a third space for people like you! We have plans to open our own brick & mortar store in the future. However, we are also both new to all of this and have a history of tackling projects with DIY in mind so we do ask for a bit of patience as we figure it all out!

My name is Basil (She/They) and I’m one half of the Creech crew! You may have seen me playing music, hosting house shows, or brewing coffee for you at different coffee shops around town. These experiences have shown me just how important community is and I’m excited to continue to foster that in a space we can all call our own!

- Aidan's Origin Story -

I’m Aidan (they/them/their) and I’m the other half of the Creech crew! I’m an artist and have been a comic fan since I could walk. Ask me about Doctor Strange or Megg and Mogg sometime! Creature’s Crypt is important to me as I believe we can create a unique safe space for folks to express their love for comics, zines and art in general while maintaining a mission of no tolerance for hate.
